Group tour to Canada's east coast, to fish the beautiful River Margaree in Nova Scotia.

Good fishing, beautiful surroundings, and exciting wildlife are common to all Atlantik Travel’s destinations, and Nova Scotia is no exception. We fish in a river surrounded by mountains and forest, and having the chance of seeing such creatures as racoon, lynx, and bald eagle, makes the experience no less exciting.

It is a real pleasure to fish this wonderful river, which offers many exciting pools, that lie stretch out like pearls on a string. We stay in a centerally placed lodge in twin rooms with en-suite facilities. The tour leader is Danish and knows the district and river well. On this tour we have access to nearly all of the Margaree together with a number of other, good autumn rivers. There will be plenty of water to cast a fly in!

We will fish the last salmon run of the year, which should mean the river will be holding good numbers of fish, both coloured fish that entered the river earlier in the summer and fresh silver fish that are still coming up the river at this time of year. The salmon here have a relatively high average weight, on our 2009 tour it was around 5.5kg, while the largest fish was over 10kg.

If the autumn weather is mild, it is worth trying your luck with dry flies, but fishing in the traditional manner will normally give the best results. It is important to be prepared for high water levels, but if you bring with you a good range of lines, both sinking and floating, you should be equipped to deal with most conditions.The period we will fish is normally good, but as with everything else to do with salmon fishing, there are no guarantees.
