If beautiful tropical beaches and world class angling, for hard fighting saltwater game fish is something for you, then look no further....

The Andamans are a paradise for the angler who wants to push himself and his eqipment to the limit. If your gear can hold up to a 50lb plus giant travelly smashing into a popper with a splash like a piano falling from the 5th floor, then it is your own strength and endurance that comes into play.

The Andaman Islands don't just offer fantastic fishing, but also beautiful sandy beaches, coral reefs and pristine  tropical forest. The Andamans, together with the nearby Nicobar Islands, consist of a chain of over 500 islands streching for over 700km.

Our base in the Andamans is Havelock Island, where we can offer our guests the choice of staying in a number of different resorts, in different price classes. We especially recomend staying in the clean and well-kept Cross Bill Resort or the charming Wild Orchid Resort which boasts the island's best restaurant. we can also arrange budget accommodation in bamboo huts.

In 2004 the beaches on Havelock Island were judged to be amongst the very best in Asia. All this, together with some of the world's best tropical saltwater fishing, should come with a health warning: fishing in the Andamans can be highly addictive.

Popper fishing for Giant Trevally is the big attraction, but it is aslo possible to catch many other species here including grouper, tuna, wahoo, king mackerel and barracuda amongst others. The fishing tackes place from small boats with 1 -3 anglers on each, and while you mainly spend your time trolling and casting with large poppers or stickbaits, it is also possible to try out other methods such as speed jigging and live baiting.

The high season is from November to April, and in addition to the angling there is a wide range of other activities available: snorkelling, diving, walking tour in the impressive forests or simply relaxing on one of  the beautiful beaches. We would be happy to tailor a package to fit your requirements.

A look back at Atlantik's fantastic 2010/2011 season.

This last season has been a great success for Atlantik Travel and our clients on the Andamans. We have had some really unique fishing and wildlife experiences, and a lot of big GTs were landed - the biggest over 100 lbs. One angler caught 23 different species during a weeks fishing, while another group landed 6 GTs over 30kg. But our best experience was to hear how our clients talked about our local partner Qutub and his wife Nafisa, who both did everything they could to ensure our guests had a great holiday. We have only heard praise from our clients who have met these fantastic hosts. But there is one thing that we will try to change for next year: our clients need to bring stronger tackle!! Just read a report we recieved from Qutub while we had a group of 4 angling friends out in the Andamans:

FISHING UPDATE: 5 broken rods! 2 big sharks lost! 1 Big Grouper Landed. Several GTs over 15kg landed! 2 GTs over 35kg landed! Many, any GT's lost while Popping! Important - Still 3 More days to go!!

The Boats

Our partners have 3 boats available, but we never book more than 2 boats at a time - in this way we always have a boat on standby if any problems arise with the other boats. These are not modern American speedboats, but solid glassfibre boats built to suit local conditions and fitted out for angling. They are not fast, but you can start fishing nearly as soon as you leave the harbour, and the time spent sailing from one fishing spot to another is used to troll for the many species found in the district. The 3 boats are:

- Great White: 31 ft, usually 2-3 anglers (max 4) - circa €310- per day inc. lunch and soft drinks.

- Snapper: 27 ft, usually 2 anglers (max 3) -  circa €270- per day inc. lunch and soft drinks.

- Capt. Hook: 17ft, 1-2 anglers, circa €190- per day inc. lunch and soft drinks.
