Tropical saltwater fishing in one of the world's biggest marine national parks.

The Venezuelan islands of Los Roques offer some of the world's best fishing for bonefish, with many hard core fly fishers making an annual pilgramage to Grand Roques, the group's main island.

The islands around Grand Roques offer fantastic fishing - but if you want to experience the fishing on some of the hundreds of other islands and flats that make up this 2251km² tropical atoll, the only possibility is to go with one of the local guides.

The fishing

Los Roques is one of the world's best bestinations for bonefish, but these islands offer much more than this. Los Roques is best known for its flyfishing, and our guides are specialists in this, but the destination also offers alot of exciting challenges for spin fishermen. In addition to bonefish - which can be caught when spinning - barracuda, jacks, bonito and many other species can all be caught by the spin fisherman. Our detailed destination guide includes information on choice of flies etc.

Atlantik and Los Roques

On Los Roques it is possible to fish without a guide, but without a local guide you will only have access to a small part of the fishing otherwise available in the national park. It is of course possible to get some great fishing in the "recreative zone", where everybody can fish, but we do advise our clients to fish with a local guide for a number of days. Unfortunately, over the years we have heard from many disappointed anglers who have hired expensive local guides who did not take thier responsibilities seriously. Therefore it is important that you don't just hire any old guide when you want to live you your fishing dreams. Over many years we have worked  in partnership with some of the best, most professional guides in the area. Our guides keep a constant focus on which flats fish best under the prevalent conditions - which is something not all guides do - but can make the difference between a good and a bad day's fishing! In the company of these highly professional guides are clients have enjoyed many days that other fishermen on Los Roques can only listen too in wonder, before trying to arrange days with "our" guides.

Package tours: January - August 2011

Good posada and delicious food, fishing with a local guide combined with non-guided fishing days.

Taking part in one of these tours will give ample oppertunity to fish some of the exclusive flats that can only be fished with a local guide. It is possible to both book extra days with a local guide, and extend the length of your stay. We especially recommend this tour to fly fishermen who have dreamt of fishing the famous "pancake flats" for tailing bonefish.
